Alongside my training to work as a counsellor and clinical supervisor, my own life experiences and the journey to search for answers led me on a learning path to heal and to help others better understand themselves. As a fully qualified and accredited counsellor my aim is to guide individuals on their unique journeys toward emotional health and well-being. I bring experience in various therapeutic techniques, including person-centered approach, trauma informed practice, genograms, attachment theory, family systems, family constellations and somatic therapy techniques, which enables me to tailor sessions to the needs of the individual. I specialize in exploring challenges related to relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, understanding flight/fight/freeze and grief and loss.
I am dedicated to creating a caring and respectful environment where you can feel truly heard and supported. My passion lies in supporting clients to foster a deeper understanding of themselves, promoting growth and meaningful change.
For over six years I worked as an Intake Officer and then Therapist at South Pacific Private, a prominent private treatment centre for mood disorders and addictions. I gained a wealth of understanding of addiction during my years at South Pacific Private from both colleagues and clients alike and greatly value my time working there.
Alongside my private practice over the past 18 years, I held the position of Welfare Manager for the Sister2sister Program 15 years in Sydney and Melbourne. The role involved the screening and training of mentors and mentees and attending to all the welfare needs for the attendees. The program connected vulnerable teenage girls with fully trained volunteer mentors. I have had the great honour to work alongside hundreds of teenage girls over the years and hold great respect for their courage and resilience. The foundation also has an in-school program for Year 7 girls, No Limits 4 girls which I was involved in the inception and pilot programs in both NSW and VIC. I have now co-facilitated the program throughout high schools in NSW (including Byron High School) and QLD over the past 6 years.
I hold Clinical Membership of PACFA and I am committed to engaging in ongoing professional development and supervision to be open to new advances in research such as the area of brain plasticity, neurobiology and somatic therapy to name a few. It is an exciting time in therapy as we explore more ways of working therapeutically.
I worked on the Northern Beaches of Sydney for over 16 years and I am now based on the Northern Rivers both in person and via zoom.
A bit about me, I absolutely love being in nature be it by the ocean or surrounded by trees and cows and I have a love for music from many genres. I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog. I have an interest in writing and have used journaling for many years as well as participating in writing groups.
Whether you’re embarking on a new pathway or seeking the next step in your journey, I am here to share insights into this transformative process.
